Hôtel de Ville

Place de l'Hôtel-de-Ville · 11 pm · 7/8

This is where the Pride march ends its speeches and where the city raises the rainbow flag every June. The neo-Renaissance façade, its 108 statues and slate roofs are lit until midnight, and the square is three streets from the Marais.

The right time

11 pm: the square empties, the façade stays lit, the Marais starts to overflow.

Lights

Façade lit until midnight; on some nights, projections and special colours (Pride, New Year, Fête de la Musique).

The photo spot

From pont d'Arcole or the Left Bank (quai de Gesvres): the whole façade with the Seine in the foreground.

The tip

You're 4 minutes from rue des Archives and rue Sainte-Croix-de-la-Bretonnerie: the heart of the gay Marais starts here.
